Funded by the Ministry of Health, The Ontario Caregiver Organization is an independent nonprofit that supports 3.3 million caregivers in Ontario by being their point of access to the resources they need to succeed in taking care of loved ones.
In late 2019, Ontario Caregiver Organization reached out to Soar Media Group Inc. to create video content that connected with caregivers and highlighted individual caregiver stories.
Our videography team decided to create a short documentary style video to effectively tell the story of a Ontario caregiver and her experience. This gave a personal touch, which was a key factor in connecting with other caregivers. To make sure Maurine, the storyteller, was relaxed we decided to film in her home. The familiar environment resulted in candid emotions and thoughts.
The short documentary video was a huge success. The video is one of the lead videos on the Ontario Caregiver Organization’s website and has been used to encourage other caregivers to come forward and tell their stories.
Documentary style videos and video content in general has become a leading content marketing tool for the Ontario Caregiver Organization.
