Podcasting Equipment from Amazon that every aspiring Podcaster needs
Here’s our guide for podcasting equipment from Amazon that you need to start podcasting.
Podcasting has become a booming industry. According to Podcast Statistics 2022, there are 383.7 million podcast listeners globally. This audience is steadily growing and we are loving this upward trend. Podcasts are an incredible way to reach your audience anywhere, any time; users can listen to podcasts when they’re driving, cooking, running or even showering! It’s the one digital content form that you don’t need to be physically engaged in to digest. If you want to learn more about why you should start a podcast, read our article here.
Aside from being avid podcast listeners, we regularly produce podcasts for our clients. Here’s some tips for how we start the production process:
Plan your podcast
Before purchasing any equipment, plan out your podcast: What will you be talking about? Do you have a co-host or are you hosting the podcast yourself? Is there a niche for your podcast? Are there special guests you can invite? You need to do research and find out if any other podcasts are talking about the same topics as you. Figure out what will set you apart. Whatever you choose, make sure your podcast is serving a niche that hasn’t been filled.
Have a dedicated recording space
It is also important to have a dedicated podcast recording space. Make sure where you are recording is somewhat soundproof. Keep track of other electronics or noises in the room you are recording in. There may be a small humming sound or noises, find the source, unplug or silence the noise if you can. This is important because your listeners may find background noise distracting from your podcast content.
Podcasting equipment from Amazon you need
Microphone
Here are three different base options for microphones, one with an arm stand, one with a removable microphone and one with a stand attached.
We recommend purchasing a USB microphone rather than an XLR microphone due to the ease of use when you’re first starting out. USB microphones can easily connect to your existing laptop or desktop computer.

A pair of Headphones
You’ll need a good pair of headphones to listen while you record and during the editing process. We’d recommend making an investment and purchasing high quality headphones used in professional studio environments.
If you’re looking for going into more professional audio recording equipment. You may want to consider purchasing a mic with an XLR connection and a mixer. If you’re looking to do street interviews, we recommend using a zoom recorder for recording on the go with an SD card to safely save your audio files.
Additionally, for everything to work together, you will need a laptop or desktop computer to record your audio to. Recording software or apps that can be used for recording are Audacity, Adobe Audition and the industry standard software, ProTools. All three programs can also be used to edit your audio clips in post production.
Once you’ve recorded and edited your podcast episode, it’s time to plan out which platforms you’d like to upload your podcast to. Is it through Spotify, Stitcher or Apple Music? You may also choose to upload your podcast to Anchor, which can help you distribute your podcast to many different platforms.
