Time to Talk: A Podcast for Caregivers
Creating high-quality content with an important message is what Soar Media Group does best, and on March 31st, 2021, we expanded that craft into a wonderful new project, Time to Talk: a Podcast for Caregivers.
At the end of 2020, Soar Media Group was approached by The Ontario Caregiver Organization to create a new podcast series. The podcast would be a content resource for caregivers – offering valuable and free information – while also promoting The Ontario Caregiver’s free resources.
The 8-episode series follows professional TV & Podcast Host, Michelle Jobin, as she is joined by subject matter experts to discuss relevant topics like nutrition, sleep, balancing parenting with caregiving, managing finances, and more.
Podcasts first popped up around ten years ago and have steadily grown over the last decade. In the last three years, the amount of monthly podcast listeners has grown by 61.5%. On average, podcast fans listen to 8 episodes during the course of a week, and they are highly engaging with low requirements to create. Our team produced this podcast from start to finish, including the podcast concept, tone, episode topics, episode flow and questions, podcast jingle, intro and outro, and ad spots. Then we focused on gathering 8 experts to appear on the podcast, each with a new perspective on the world of caregiving. Once we had our topics, we contacted our friend Michelle Jobin, began sourcing experts, and began writing the scripts.
Each recording session lasted about an hour and was then cut down into roughly 30-45 minute episodes. Our team also developed episode titles and descriptions to be used on streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. As well, our team also created ad spots that were strategically created to focus on evergreen services and were intended to help drive traffic back to The Ontario Caregiver Organization website. Once we had the final versions of each episode, we uploaded the podcast onto streaming services, and the final show premiered on March 31st, 2021.
It was a pleasure working with The Ontario Caregivers Organization and Michelle Jobin, and we’re so happy with how the podcast turned out! Check out the full podcast on Spotify and Apple Music!
